Early Learning screening registrations
Preschool screenings are for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Your child must be 3 years of age at the time of screening to register. All students inquiring about preschool are required to attend a screening.
The screening process takes approximately 60 minutes. Your child will be participating in several activities using the screening instrument called the Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning-4th Edition. The DIAL-4 will assess your child’s speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, vision, hearing, and basic concept skills. This screening will help determine if your child is experiencing any educational difficulties.
After your child has completed all areas, you will have an opportunity to discuss any concerns with one of our staff members.
Approximately 2-3 weeks after the screening, you will receive a letter in the mail regarding your child’s performance indicating if they are functioning within normal limits or if they may be eligible for an at-risk preschool. A team member will call you if further testing is recommended.
